Overview:

We have excellent summer opportunities for students who wish to gain hands-on experience in an architectural/engineering/interior design environment. Paid summer internships will be 10 - 12 weeks beginning on or before June 1, 2026 (some flexibility is available).

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Student Intern to join our Healthcare practice group, working on a variety of projects throughout the country. The position requires excellent communication, time management and technical skills as you will work closely with Senior Project Architects and Project Managers developing non-routine and complex design concepts in a manner responsive to the client's needs and deadlines. The candidate will also have multiple opportunities for client interaction and will help our team maintain a commitment to design and quality for all types of projects.

In this role you will:

  1. Accepts specific assignments and develops concepts according to parameters defined by the senior architect overseeing project assignment.
  2. Assures execution of and assists with quality control activities for architectural elements on a project.
  3. Reviews drawings, documents and submittals for document compliance and documenting code review and compliance.
  4. Keeps lead architect or designated team leader informed of progress; recognizes problem issues and communicates impact to team, and seeks clarity when necessary.
  5. Maintains, organizes and archives all project related documents.
  6. Makes an on-going effort to obtain IDP credits so that architectural registration will be achieved.
  7. Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members.
  8. Performs construction administration duties (e.g. RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.)

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience on small- to large-scale projects preferred
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other graphic tools
  • Pursuing Architectural registration

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs.
