HGA is a leading architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity for a talented, ambitious structural engineering co-op/intern with good people skills to join our Milwaukee office for the Spring 2019 term. This is a paid co-op/internship that is expected to last at least a semester in length.
In this position, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of project teams that strive to provide innovative solutions for the unique challenges of each project. Typical assignments include developing construction drawings and details using Revit and/or AutoCAD, performing structural analysis, reviewing shop drawings, performing construction administration activities and assisting with miscellaneous project tasks.
Qualified candidates must be working toward a BS degree in civil/structural engineering with an emphasis on structural design and have completed two years of school. Desirable skills include; experience with the design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures, and experience with structural analysis software, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Previous experience (co-ops or internships) in the design or construction industry and working knowledge of both Revit and AutoCAD are also desirable skills that could be put to use immediately.
