    We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student studying Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering for a paid summer internship for the summer of 2019 in our Minneapolis, MN office. The summer internship is approximately 10-12 weeks in length beginning mid-May through mid-August (depending on your schedule).

    Responsibilities

    The summer internship offers exposure to a variety of engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, performing structural engineering design calculations, researching code issues, analyzing reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work, using analysis and design software, and collaborating with project team members to complete your work.   You’ll also have the opportunity to visit construction sites for information gathering and observations.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
    • Knowledge of Revit preferred
    • Knowledge of structural analysis software
    • Knowledge of design and analysis of steel, concrete masonry and wood structures
    • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
    • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.  Students graduating December 2017 / Summer 2019 will be considered.
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

     

    The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration with other disciplines, awareness of budget commitments, independent work, and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
