    We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student studying Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on electrical systems or Electrical Engineering for a paid summer internship for the summer of 2019 in our Minneapolis, MN office. The summer internship is approximately 10-12 weeks in length beginning mid-May through mid-August (depending on your schedule).

    Responsibilities

     The summer internship offers exposure to a variety of engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, supporting aesthetically pleasing lighting designs with technically competent analysis, designing the power distribution and /or lighting design for commercial, institutional or healthcare facilities, performing electrical engineering design calculations, researching code issues and working with City, State and County officials, as well as analyzing reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work, using engineering and design software to complete your work.   

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of Revit preferred
    • Knowledge of electrical analysis software (i.e., ETAP, Easy Power, Dapper / Captor)
    • Knowledge of AGI and/or Visual Pro
    • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Architectural Engineering (with an emphasis on electrical systems) or a degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program.  Pursuit of a B.S. degree in Interior Design in a CIDA accredited program is also an option.
    • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.  Students graduating December 2018 / Summer 2019 will be considered.
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

     

    The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration with other disciplines, awareness of budget commitments, independent work, and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
